Brain Waves for Control
When I wrote the AVR Book , I added a figure (seen on the left), to show how in remote future, you might be able to download programs in a Microcontroller.
How naive I was!
Because, it seems controlling gadgets with brainwaves is not so futuristic afterall! A company called IBVA Technologies (Interactive Brainwave Visual Analyzer) has been in the business of creating hardware and software for many computer platforms, to use Brainwaves to control other programs on the computer, or other gadgets. And they have been doing this for a long time now.
Awesome!
Hope to see this technology being made available more easily so that it can be used in day to day applications.

Well, this does sound like the final frontier that the User Interface would need to see, but, the site hosted by the people has copyright lines at the bottom that end till 2003 or 2004 at the most! Plus, there is really not much of an explanation about what product they have on offer, added to the fact that they don't really have any kind of press coverage, barring a page on what their CEO said on the launch of the XBOX, about applying their technology to the XBOX, which hasn't yet fructified! All this, leading me "not" to believe in the credibility of the mentioned company!
I love the smell of vaporware in the morning. :P
